What is SUSS education verification?
If you are applying to the Singapore University of Social Sciences and need your academic certificates verified, the process is straightforward once your documents are ready. RMI is endorsed by SUSS to verify your educational certificates. You submit your documents and authorisation to RMI, the relevant institution is contacted for verification, and you receive a report once the check is complete.
What is SUSS education verification?
SUSS education verification confirms the authenticity of an academic qualification that you submit as part of your application to the Singapore University of Social Sciences.
RMI has been endorsed by SUSS to carry out this verification for applicants. Your qualification is checked through the registrar, administrator or other appropriate contact at the institution that issued it.
This gives SUSS independent confirmation that the academic document you submitted can be verified with the issuing institution.
If you are ready to begin, you can use RMI’s SUSS verification service.
Here is our step-by-step guide to SUSS verification.
1. Prepare your academic documents
Start by making sure you have the required documents available before you submit your request.
You will need a copy of the degree, diploma or certificate issued by your university, college or institute. You should provide the document in the original language in which it was issued.
You will also need proof of identity, such as your passport or a valid national identification card.
If your academic document is not in English, you will also need to provide an English translation of the original document in line with SUSS requirements.
Some countries have additional requirements. If your qualification was issued in India, you need to provide a copy of your marksheet. If your qualification was issued in China, you need to provide your Degree Certificate, 学位证书, and Graduating Certificate, 毕业证书.
Make sure your scans are clear and complete. Missing pages, unreadable details or absent supporting documents can prevent your verification from starting.
You can check the current document requirements in RMI’s FAQs for SUSS students before you submit.
2. Submit your request and make payment
Once your documents are ready, you can start your SUSS education verification request online.
You will need to provide your contact information and complete payment for the service. RMI accepts major credit cards through its online payment system, and bank transfer is also available.
If you pay by bank transfer, quote the relevant invoice number and provide proof of transfer.
The current verification fee is S$90 before GST, and the average turnaround is 15 business days, with exceptions for India- and China-based checks. Check the service page before placing your order so you have the latest price and payment information.
3. Complete the Letter of Authorisation
Your educational institution cannot simply release student information to a third party without permission.
For this reason, you need to sign a Letter of Authorisation, or LOA. This gives RMI permission to carry out the verification and allows your educational institution to provide the information needed to complete the check.
RMI normally uses a digitally signed Letter of Authorisation. Some institutions still require a handwritten signature. If this applies to you, the RMI SUSS Screening Manager will contact you with instructions.
Your verification cannot start until RMI has received the required authorisation and supporting documents.
4. RMI contacts your issuing institution
Once you have submitted the required information, RMI begins the education check.
Verification is carried out through your educational institution’s registrar, administrator or another authorised source. The aim is to obtain confirmation directly from the organisation responsible for your academic record.
You do not normally need to contact the institution yourself unless RMI asks you for additional information or documentation.
Response times can vary between institutions. Universities in different countries may use different record systems, approval processes and administrative procedures.
5. Allow time for the verification
The standard timeframe for SUSS education verification is an average of 15 business days once RMI has received your payment and all required documentation.
Education checks based in India and China are excluded from this standard 15-business-day timeframe.
You should plan for verification early in your application process. Your university may need time to locate older records or respond to an external verification request. Public holidays and institutional closures can also affect how quickly a response is received.
Submitting all required documents from the start gives your check the best chance of progressing without avoidable requests for further information.
6. Respond if you are asked for additional documents
Sometimes your educational institution may ask for additional information before it confirms your qualification.
If documents are missing or the institution requests something further, RMI will contact you by email.
Responding promptly helps keep your verification moving. You should also monitor the email address you provided when you placed your order, including your junk or spam folder.
If you have questions about an active request, you can contact RMI customer support and quote your invoice number. Contact details are available through RMI’s contact page.
7. Receive your verification report
Once your verification has been completed, RMI issues the result in a PDF report.
The report is sent to the email address you supplied during your original online submission.
Keep a copy of the report and any related correspondence for your records.
Before you submit your SUSS verification request
Most delays that you can control happen before the verification begins.
Check that your qualification document is complete and legible. Make sure you have suitable identification and any required translation. If your qualification was issued in India or China, check the country-specific document requirements as well.
You should also complete the Letter of Authorisation as soon as it is provided.
The response time of your educational institution is outside your control, particularly if your qualification was issued overseas. Starting early gives you more room if the institution takes longer to respond.
