RMI will work with the Ministry of Manpower’s Work Pass Division as the verification agency to verify the authenticity of certificates and qualifications for individuals applying for work permits or passes in Singapore.
Individuals who are applying for work permits or passes in MoM SG will have to have their certificates and qualifications verified. Apart from verifying the authenticity of applicant certificates, RMI also verifies the accreditation status of the issuing institution or University.
We recognise that it is important for RMI to fulfil the tasks as accurately, fairly, and as quickly as possible, and that what we do affects the livelihood and employability of applicants. Our verification agency team works closely with applicants to ensure we have the right information and that the verification is conducted correctly. In the event that records cannot be found or something does not tally, we are always open to applicants providing us with additional information so we can investigate further.
In recent years, there have been a number of high-profile cases in the media on professionals who have been the victims of “doxing”, where individuals search for and publish private or identifying information on the Internet, typically with malicious intent. These incidents have brought to light cases where certificates or qualifications have been uncovered as questionable. RMI will conduct background checks review thoroughly and appropriately to ensure this doesn’t happen in the future.
